I recently had the opportunity to play with Flask. My friend recommended the framework as a way to “get it done” for a simple application when Django’s extreme bells and whistles were not required.
Flask’s initial setup was a breeze. I installed Nginx + uWSGI + Flask for the full production environment scenario. Once the correct directories were found for HTML, JS, and CSS file placement then the coding commenced.
The one downside to Flask vs. Django is the lack of “quick answers” in communities like Stack Overflow. Flask’s documentation is excellent and as adoption grows I’m sure the “quick answers” for specific scenarios will also increase.
